Appsmith - Thanks for all the fish. And onto new adventures
I moved on from my role at Appsmith a couple of months ago. I’ve shared this with some of you already, but I thought it’s a good time to be sharing this with the wider world. It's been a transition in the making for many months and it wouldn't have been possible without the immense support from Abhishek Nayak (Co-founder and CEO of Appsmith) who gave me the space and time to plan my exit over many months.
Appsmith has grown immensely from the time I joined almost 3 years back. Since then, it has grown from a fast growing small project to one of the most popular commercial open source endeavours out there. I am so proud of the team we've built, so thankful to the customers and users who have trusted us, and so grateful to our investors for believing in us.
Sometime middle of last year Abhishek, Devin McIntire (Appsmith's Head of People) and I embarked on finding a leader who could take Appsmith to the next level and after months of talking to some amazing marketing leaders, we found one that we believed in: Michael Peach. And I continue to remain an extremely passionate supporter and shareholder.
As for me, I took some time reflecting on what I want to do next. And had countless conversations with old friends and new. I've been in the UK for close to 4 years now and I've noticed the massive number of Indians that have been coming to Europe. As some of you might have noticed, I've been very vocal about the rise of Indian immigrants in Europe and feel we're going to be Europe's most important immigrant group in the years to come. And this is going to impact technology and entrepreneurship in a massive way. I am dedicating this time in my life to go all in on this trend and doing a bunch of interconnected things under the umbrella of a project that I call Svagat - which ofcourse as you all know means welcome Welcome in sanskrit.
